Temple of unity
Look! This special building is called a stupa.
Think of it like a really special, peaceful monument, like a birthday cake for good feelings! It doesn't have doors to go inside, but it stands tall to remind us of important things, like being kind and peaceful. This stupa, our Temple of Unity, also reminds us of the Earth we play on, the water we drink, the fire that warms us, the air we breathe, and the big sky above holding ether – the five important things that help everything live and grow. It's like a symbol that helps us all feel good together.
And see the big, colorful wheel? This is a Tibetan prayer wheel. Imagine it's like a musical box, but instead of songs, it holds lots and lots of secret wishes and prayers for everyone in the world to be happy, healthy, and kind. People who live far away in the snowy mountains of Tibet have used these for a very long time to send out good thoughts. When you gently turn the wheel to the left, it's like sending all those happy and kind wishes on a little trip through the air to make the world a better place for everyone. So, come give the wheel a spin and remember we are all connected and should be kind to each other, just like the Temple of Unity reminds us!
The Reason
So, why did Ruhani Wellness Centre, the place where we learn to feel good inside, build this special Temple of Unity right here in our community? It's because we wanted to create a happy and peaceful spot for everyone, for all our neighbors and friends. We believe that just like we learn to take care of our bodies and minds at the center, this stupa helps us remember to be kind and connected to each other and to our beautiful world right here in Costa Rica.
We built the Temple of Unity and put the big prayer wheel here so that anyone walking by can stop for a moment and send out good wishes for everyone. It's like a little gift of peace and unity for our whole community. We want everyone, young and old, to feel welcome and to remember that we are all part of one big family, sharing this wonderful place we live in. So, when you see the Temple of Unity and the prayer wheel, remember it's a gift of love and togetherness from Ruhani Wellness Centre to all of us!
HOW TO USE THE PRAYER WHEEL
Want to send good vibes out into San José and beyond? Here's how to use our big prayer wheel:
Come Closer: Walk up to the big, colorful wheel. It's waiting for your gentle touch!
Right Hand Please: Gently place your right hand on the wheel. It's the tradition to use your right hand to send those good wishes.
Spin it Left: Give the wheel a soft push so it turns in a clockwise direction – that's the way the good energy flows! Imagine you're helping the sun move across the sky.
Think Happy Thoughts: While the wheel is spinning, take a moment to think about peace, kindness, and happiness for yourself, your family, your neighbors here, and everyone in Costa Rica and the world. Every turn sends those good thoughts out!
One Spin or Many: You can spin the wheel just once, or many times if you like. Each turn is like sending another little wave of good energy.
